PKK fighters attack Iraqi border guard checkpoint in Zakho, killing two
All three victims were residents of the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Friday, Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters launched an attack on an Iraqi border guard checkpoint in the Batifa district of the Zakho Independent Administration, a security source informed Kurdistan24 reporter Mehvan Majid.
Amir Ali, spokesperson for the Zakho General Directorate of Health, confirmed that the attack resulted in the deaths of two border guards and left another wounded. He added that the injured guard is in stable condition.
According to Ali, all three victims were residents of the Kurdistan Region. The deceased border guards were identified as Ali Ramazan Ismail, a resident of Simele district, and Mehvan Naji Mir Sharaf, a resident of Duhok city.
