Iraq Strengthens Border Security Amid Ongoing Cooperation with Coalition Forces

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani reiterated his government’s determination to eliminate terrorist groups during a meeting with Major General Kevin C. Leahy,
Commander of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR), and Daniel Rubinstein, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Iraq, on Sunday in Baghdad.
In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, al-Sudani highlighted Iraq’s noteworthy progress in securing its borders and thwarting terrorist groups from taking advantage of former passage points.
"Iraq continues its efforts to eradicate terrorist groups," the Prime Minister stated, stressing that over the past two years, Iraq has achieved considerable control over areas that were formerly susceptible to infiltration.
The meeting, which reviewed the general security situation in the region, underlined the continued partnership between Iraqi security forces and coalition advisors in tracking the remnants of ISIS.
