Four killed in drone strike on vehicle in Raparin Independent Administration

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A drone strike targeted a vehicle in Girdjan village of the Raparin Independent Administration on Monday, killing all four occupants, local sources confirmed.

According to Aras Amin, a Kurdistan 24 reporter in Raparin, the drone struck a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado carrying two men and two women on the main road of Girdjan village. The attack occurred approximately two kilometers from the center of the Chwarqurna sub-district, on a route connecting the Ranya and Dukan districts.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was parked in front of a restaurant in a public area near residential units when it was hit. Security forces promptly arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident.

The identities of the victims and the motive behind the attack remain unknown, with authorities yet to release an official statement. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has frequently expressed concerns over the increasing frequency of drone strikes in the region, urging greater efforts to prevent such incidents.
