ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Prince Hassan bin Talal, former Crown Prince of Jordan, emphasized the Kurdistan Region’s strategic role in ensuring stability, security, and peace in the Middle East, highlighting its pivotal influence on regional dynamics.
His remarks came during a meeting with a delegation from the Kurdistan Chronicle Foundation in Amman, Jordan.
Prince Hassan underscored that lasting stability in the Middle East depends on cooperation among key regional components—Kurds, Arabs, Turks, and Persians—noting that historical experiences have shown that such collaboration fosters significant positive transformations.
He also praised the strong ties between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region, stressing the importance of enhancing cultural and diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
Jordan and the Kurdistan Region share long-standing relations built on mutual political, economic, and cultural interests. Over the years, Jordan has maintained diplomatic and trade partnerships with Erbil, recognizing the Kurdistan Region as a key player in Iraq’s political landscape.
Economic cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, has strengthened their ties, while cultural exchanges and diplomatic visits continue to reinforce their relationship. Jordan has also been a supporter of the Kurdistan Region’s stability, viewing it as a crucial factor in maintaining security in Iraq and the broader region.
The visit concluded with participation in the inauguration of the Middle East Dialogue Center at the Middle East University in Jordan. With over a thousand attendees, Prince Hassan played a central role in discussions on the future of regional relations and the Kurdistan Region’s role in shaping them.
