PM Barzani praises progress in KRG-Iraq talks on budget and salaries

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) negotiating delegation on Tuesday following their recent discussions with the Iraqi government in Baghdad.
According to a statement from the KRG, the delegation provided an update on their productive meetings regarding amendments to the federal budget law and the provision of salaries and financial entitlements for the Kurdistan Region.
Prime Minister Barzani expressed his gratitude to the delegation and the KRG’s technical teams for their professionalism and dedication throughout the negotiations. He emphasized his hope that the upcoming vote on the budget law amendments would resolve other outstanding issues and strengthen cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad.

On Sunday, the Iraqi Parliament approved a key amendment to the federal budget law. This crucial step will allow oil exports from the Kurdistan Region to resume.
