In its first phase, the project has already benefited over 3,000 children, while the second phase is set to assist more than 11,000 children.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) has announced the launch of the "Azizani Kurdistan" project, an initiative aimed at supporting thousands of orphaned children in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).
In its first phase, the project has already benefited over 3,000 children, while the second phase is set to provide assistance to more than 11,000 children.
On Tuesday, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, BCF unveiled this humanitarian initiative with the support of local companies, philanthropists, and notable personalities from Kurdistan. In a press conference, Musa Ahmed, head of the BCF, detailed the scope and impact of the project, emphasizing its significance for vulnerable children in the region.
“In the first phase of the project, more than $1.36 million in financial assistance was distributed among 3,562 orphaned children,” Ahmed stated. He further highlighted BCF’s commitment to expanding the initiative, stating, “We are making every effort to commence the second phase of this project before the Eid al-Fitr holiday, with additional support from the UAE Red Crescent. The next phase will provide more than $4 million in aid, benefiting over 11,000 children.”
Ahmed also revealed that next week, BCF will launch another project aimed at distributing food packages to over 15,000 families across cities and towns in the Kurdistan Region. This initiative underscores BCF’s dedication to addressing food insecurity and supporting underprivileged families during Ramadan.
A Legacy of Humanitarian Commitment
BCF, established in 2005, has played a crucial role in humanitarian aid efforts across the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and beyond. The organization has been instrumental in providing support to displaced persons, refugees, and underprivileged families, offering essential services such as food assistance, healthcare, education, and housing solutions.
BCF has consistently been at the forefront of relief efforts in times of crisis, including aiding internally displaced persons (IDPs) from conflict-affected areas and extending assistance to Syrian refugees in the region. The foundation's work has also extended internationally, providing aid to disaster-stricken communities in various countries.
Through strategic partnerships with international organizations, governments, and private donors, BCF continues to implement large-scale projects that foster long-term social and economic development. The "Azizani Kurdistan" initiative is yet another testament to its unwavering mission of supporting the most vulnerable members of society, ensuring that orphaned children receive the care and financial aid necessary to improve their lives.
As Ramadan remains a time of giving and solidarity, BCF's continued efforts exemplify the spirit of humanitarianism, reinforcing its role as a leading philanthropic organization in the region and beyond.
