ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that the Israeli Air Force conducted an airstrike on Damascus on Thursday, targeting a building associated with Palestinian leaders. Syrian state media reported the attack, with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights noting at least one fatality.

In a statement, Katz declared, "There will be no immunity for Islamic terrorism against Israel, whether in Damascus or anywhere else. We will not allow Syria to become a threat to the State of Israel."

This development follows recent Israeli military actions in Syria, including strikes on military targets in Deraa province and al-Kiswah near Damascus, as reported by the Financial Times. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized the need for the "complete demilitarization" of southern Syria to protect Israeli citizens.

The situation remains fluid, with regional tensions escalating. We will continue to update this article as more information becomes available.
