KDP and PUK Delegations to Meet in Erbil to Finalize Government Formation
The meeting is set for 5:00 PM at the PUK's Political Bureau in Erbil, focusing on finalizing agreements for the formation of the 10th KRG cabinet.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Another meeting between the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) delegations is scheduled for Tuesday, in Erbil. The meeting aims to address the final steps in forming the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
According to Kurdistan24 correspondent, the meeting will take place at 5:00 PM at the PUK’s Political Bureau headquarters in Erbil. The primary focus will be on finalizing the agreements necessary for the formation of the 10th KRG cabinet.
This meeting follows a significant discussion on Sunday, between KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani. Following that meeting, Prime Minister Barzani took to his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Today, we welcomed Mr. Bafel Talabani and discussed the necessary steps for forming the 10th KRG cabinet.”
Both leaders reportedly expressed optimism about the ongoing negotiations, emphasizing their shared commitment to forming a strong, unified, and service-oriented government.
The last formal meeting between the KDP and PUK delegations took place on Feb. 26, in Sulaimani. That meeting resulted in the preparation of a 15-page document outlining the framework for collaboration and the formation of the new government. The upcoming session in Erbil is expected to build on that groundwork and move the process closer to completion.
The meeting's outcome will be closely watched as both parties work toward overcoming remaining differences and ensuring a stable governance structure for the Kurdistan Region.
