President Barzani, Italian Ambassador discuss regional stability and cooperation

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – President Masoud Barzani met with Italian Ambassador Niccolò Fontana in Erbil’s Pirmam district on Wednesday to discuss key political and security developments in Iraq and the wider region.
Both sides emphasized the importance of stability and cooperation during the meeting, particularly in Syria. The agreement between the Kurdish parties and the new Syrian government was highlighted as a positive step toward peace. Ambassador Fontana also commended President Barzani’s crucial role in fostering dialogue and facilitating a peaceful resolution in Turkey.
The discussion further covered preparations for forming the tenth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, underscoring the region's commitment to democratic progress.
Additionally, both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to countering terrorism and ensuring long-term security, signaling a shared commitment to peace and prosperity in the region.
