Kurdistan Region President Meets UAE President to Bolster Bilateral Ties and Investment Prospects

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in key sectors.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening to discuss strengthening ties and expanding cooperation between the UAE, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in key sectors. Both leaders expressed mutual interest in deepening engagement, particularly through potential investment by the UAE and its private sector in the Kurdistan Region and across Iraq.

In addition to economic matters, the two leaders exchanged views on recent regional developments and the broader security landscape in the Middle East. They stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability, urging all sides to act with restraint and responsibility in navigating current challenges.

President Barzani and President al-Nahyan also discussed the situation in Syria and other pressing issues of shared concern, reaffirming their commitment to ongoing dialogue and cooperation to address them constructively.

The meeting underscored a shared vision for strengthening regional partnerships and fostering a more stable and prosperous future for the wider region.
