ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Ano Jawhar, Secretary General of the Christian Alliance Presidency, on Monday called on all Chaldean, Assyrian, Syriac, and Armenian political parties and organizations to unite and form a single electoral list for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections.

In a statement, Jawhar emphasized the importance of solidarity among Christian communities to ensure stronger political representation and safeguard their future in Iraq. He warned that the continued fragmentation and isolation of these groups have weakened their voice in the country’s political, social, and cultural institutions.

“Our communities are facing serious challenges, and their representation in state institutions has sharply declined,” Jawhar said, attributing the setbacks to external interference and a lack of internal cohesion. He stressed that only through unity and courageous leadership can these groups fulfill their historic responsibilities during this critical phase.

The Secretary General underscored the urgent need for a responsible and inclusive dialogue among all Christian parties, urging them to work together toward a shared vision. “Division has allowed foreign forces to shape our destiny and misrepresent our people’s true needs and aspirations,” he noted.

Jawhar concluded with a renewed appeal from the Christian Alliance, encouraging all relevant parties to engage in meaningful discussions to form a joint electoral front that reflects the collective interests of Iraq’s Christian communities.
