ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with U.S. Congressman Darrell Issa on Wednesday in Washington as part of his ongoing visit to the United States, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced.
The meeting centered on strengthening bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States in a range of sectors. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and mutual interests.
Prime Minister Barzani and Congressman Issa also emphasized the importance of upholding Iraq's federal system and the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region. They stressed the need to safeguard the financial rights and entitlements of the Kurdish people within the framework of the Iraqi constitution.
The meeting is part of a broader effort to deepen diplomatic, economic, and security ties between Erbil and Washington.
