PM Barzani: We Had Excellent Meeting With the US Secretary of State
He also invited the US Secretary of State to visit the Kurdistan Region.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani stated at a press conference on Thursday that they had an excellent meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Prime Minister Barzani stated that during his meeting with the US Secretary of State, he shared his views on developments in the region.
"We are very pleased to see significant support from the United States for the people of Kurdistan and for the contracts that we believe will benefit all of Kurdistan and Iraq," he remarked.
He also invited the US Secretary of State to visit the Kurdistan Region.
When addressing the perspectives of Baghdad officials on the contracts between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and two US companies, Masrour Barzani said, "I hope and believe that the views of Baghdad officials on this process are in the best interest of the Iraqi people."
"The more flexibility Baghdad officials demonstrate, the more they will realize that our efforts benefit everyone," he added.
Regarding the formation of the KRG's new cabinet, Barzani expressed his desire for the tenth cabinet to be formed as soon as possible.
