ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a landmark initiative to promote energy efficiency and consumer awareness, the Runaki Project has launched an official electricity consumption calculator designed to estimate the monthly power usage of household appliances. This state-approved tool marks the first of its kind in the Kurdistan Region, offering citizens a precise method for managing electricity consumption and expenses.

Developed in collaboration with the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Electricity, the calculator is grounded in official guidelines and statistical data, ensuring the highest accuracy and reliability. It aims to empower households with practical knowledge about energy usage, supporting informed decision-making and fostering responsible consumption habits.

Key Benefits Highlighted by Runaki

Understanding Appliance Consumption: The tool provides a detailed overview of the energy usage of individual household devices. Citizens can now assess which appliances consume the most power, allowing them to prioritize energy-efficient practices.

Promoting Awareness and Responsible Use: By identifying high-consumption devices, the calculator raises awareness about electricity usage patterns. It encourages users to adopt smarter habits that contribute to energy conservation and reduced utility bills.

Monthly Usage Estimation: The calculator helps users project their monthly electricity usage and prepare for associated costs, offering greater control over household budgeting.

How to Use the Runaki Electricity Calculator

To utilize the tool, users should:

- Visit the official Runaki Project website and go to the "Calculator" section.

- Select the "Monthly Appliance Usage Calculator (kWh)" option.

- Choose the appliances they wish to assess.

- Enter the number of devices, average daily usage hours, and the power rating (in watts) of each appliance.

Most appliances display their wattage near the power cable or on the back panel, showing their maximum load capacity.

Once this data is input, the calculator automatically generates an estimate of total monthly electricity consumption, delivering a comprehensive summary tailored to each household’s usage pattern.

This initiative represents a significant step toward sustainable energy management in the Kurdistan Region, equipping citizens with the tools necessary to monitor and reduce their electricity consumption responsibly.
