ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Jordan has suspended all civil aviation traffic to, from, and through the Kingdom until further notice, according to a statement issued Saturday by the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC).

As reported by Jordan’s official Petra news agency, CARC Chair Captain Haitham Misto announced that the suspension includes all arriving, departing, and transiting flights. He explained that the measure is a precautionary response to potential risks stemming from ongoing regional developments, aimed at ensuring the safety of aviation operations and passengers.

Meanwhile, His Majesty King Abdullah II chaired a National Security Council meeting on Saturday to discuss the regional consequences of Israel’s recent strikes against Iran.

According to Petra, the King stated that the Israeli attack violates international law and constitutes an infringement on Iran’s sovereignty, warning that such actions risk escalating tensions and instability in the region. He reaffirmed Jordan’s position that the country will not serve as a battleground for any conflict.

The meeting, which included His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, emphasized the importance of diplomacy, negotiations, and respect for international law as essential components for achieving security and stability.

His Majesty instructed the Jordanian Prime Minister and Defense Minister Jafar Hassan to maintain the highest levels of readiness and coordination among state agencies. He also emphasized the need to implement all necessary measures to protect Jordan’s security and the safety of its citizens.

The King called on authorities to continue urging the public to follow official safety instructions.
