ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Islamic Republic of Iran has launched a fresh wave of ballistic missile attacks against Israel as part of its ongoing “True Promise 3” operation, escalating an already volatile confrontation that entered its sixth day on Wednesday.
According to an official statement by the Israeli military, a new barrage of ballistic missiles was fired from Iran toward Israeli territory in the early hours of Wednesday.
Air raid sirens were triggered across Israel as authorities urged residents to immediately seek shelter. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that its aerial defense systems remain at the highest level of readiness to intercept the incoming Iranian missiles.
Retaliation Follows Israeli Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Infrastructure
The renewed Iranian missile strike follows Israel’s extensive aerial campaign on Friday, June 13, in which Israeli warplanes and drones targeted key Iranian sites, including nuclear facilities and ballistic missile production centers. The Israeli assault resulted in the killing of several senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists.
In retaliation, Iran launched hundreds of ballistic missiles toward Tel Aviv later that same night. While Israel’s missile defense systems reportedly intercepted the majority of those projectiles, several missiles penetrated the defenses and struck residential areas, destroying multiple buildings and causing extensive structural damage.
