ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced on Wednesday, that it had launched the twelfth wave of missile strikes against Israel, intensifying its military campaign amid escalating regional tensions.

According to a statement carried by Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC declared: “As of today, we are opening the gates of hell upon Israel, and our missiles and the thunder of our air power will not stop until we drag the enemy out from beneath their bunkers.”

The latest barrage, the statement noted, was conducted in two phases and prominently featured the use of Sejjil missiles—a domestically-developed, two-stage solid-fuel ballistic missile system. The IRGC claimed that the strikes had further degraded Israel’s air defense systems.

“Tonight, in two phases and using Sejjil missiles, we struck Israel,” the statement read. “Additionally, with the support of the heroic Iranian people, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have shattered Israel’s air defense system, and now the skies of the occupied land have been turned into a playground for Iranian missiles and drones.”

Also on Wednesday, Israel’s Army Radio reported that around eight missiles were launched from Iran toward Israeli territory.

The developments follow Israeli air and drone strikes on the morning of Friday, June 13, targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, ballistic missile production sites, and resulting in the deaths of several Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists.

Later that night, Iran retaliated by launching hundreds of ballistic missiles toward Tel Aviv. While Israel’s defense systems intercepted many, a number of missiles penetrated the shield, causing damage to residential buildings.

The IRGC’s latest declaration and continued use of long-range ballistic technology mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two regional adversaries.
