Netanyahu’s remarks make clear that Israel is preparing for a more forceful military response in the coming hours or days, as the situation in the region grows increasingly volatile.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday condemned Iran for launching missiles at civilian areas, including a direct strike on Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, vowing a harsh response against Tehran’s leadership.

“This morning, Iran's terrorist tyrants launched missiles at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and a civilian population in the center of the country,” Netanyahu posted on his official X account. “We will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran.”

The statement came hours after a fresh salvo of Iranian missiles struck multiple locations across Israel, injuring at least 32 people, according to emergency services. Soroka Medical Center, one of the largest hospitals in southern Israel, sustained what Israeli officials described as "extensive damage."

The missile strike marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, which began last week with a surprise Israeli air campaign targeting Iranian military and nuclear sites. Iran responded with waves of ballistic missiles and drone attacks that have struck both military and civilian targets inside Israel.

Netanyahu’s statement signals a likely intensification of Israeli military operations. Israel had already warned residents of Arak and Khondab—two Iranian towns with nuclear facilities—to evacuate before it struck both of them earlier on Thursday morning.

As regional tensions continue to rise, world leaders have urged restraint, but Thursday’s direct hit on a medical facility is expected to trigger broader calls for retaliation within Israel.

The conflict has already resulted in dozens of deaths on both sides and widespread damage to civilian infrastructure. International concern is mounting over the possibility of a wider regional war, particularly as the United States has yet to clarify whether it will intervene militarily.

President Donald Trump has so far maintained strategic ambiguity, telling reporters Wednesday that he has not yet made a final decision regarding U.S. involvement. “The next week is going to be very big,” he said.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s remarks make clear that Israel is preparing for a more forceful military response in the coming hours or days, as the situation in the region grows increasingly volatile.
