ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A drone crashed on Thursday near Tazede village in the Taqtaq district of Erbil province, igniting a fire but causing no injuries, local officials confirmed.

Mahmoud Abdullah, a member of the Tazede village council, told Kurdistan 24 that the drone struck a fence outside the village, sparking a blaze that was quickly contained. “Thankfully, there were no casualties or damage to homes,” he said.

The incident follows a series of drone-related events in Erbil province this week. On Wednesday, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD) reported shooting down a drone near the village of Sherawa. Two other drones were intercepted by Coalition forces on Tuesday.

Local authorities and security agencies have launched investigations into drone activities to safeguard public safety and regional stability.
