ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of an attack carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) targeting Al-Udeid Air Base, calling it a "flagrant violation" of Qatar's sovereignty and international law.

In a statement published by the Qatar News Agency (QNA) on Monday, Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and the Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the attack constitutes a breach of Qatari airspace, the principles of international law, and the United Nations Charter.

He affirmed that Qatar reserves the right to respond in a manner proportionate to the scale and nature of the attack, in accordance with international legal frameworks.

According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, air defenses in place at the base successfully intercepted the incoming missiles, averting any physical damage or casualties. Dr. Al Ansari confirmed that the base had been preemptively evacuated due to ongoing regional tensions, ensuring the safety of Qatari armed forces personnel, allied forces, and other individuals stationed at the facility.

Dr. Al Ansari also warned of the potential for such escalatory actions to severely destabilize the region, cautioning against the ripple effects that could endanger broader international peace and security.

He called for the immediate cessation of military operations and advocated for a return to the negotiating table.

Reiterating Qatar's longstanding stance, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that Doha has consistently warned against rising tensions driven by Israeli escalation in the region. He reiterated the importance of diplomatic dialogue, good-neighborly relations, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving the current crisis and ensuring lasting stability for the region and its people.
