Trump Says Israel Turning Back Jets, Ceasefire with Iran “In Effect” After Brief Falter

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Israeli fighter jets would “turn around” and cease planned strikes on Iran, declaring that the Israel-Iran ceasefire he brokered was once again “in effect” after briefly faltering, according to the Associated Press.
“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!”
Trump’s message came hours after tensions escalated when Israel accused Iran of violating the ceasefire by launching missiles into its airspace after the truce’s early morning start. Iran denied the accusations through state media, though sirens sounded and explosions were reported across northern Israel, and an Israeli official confirmed that two Iranian missiles had been intercepted.
Before departing for the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump voiced frustration to reporters at the White House, admitting his disappointment in both sides’ conduct since the ceasefire was supposed to begin.
“They violated it, but Israel violated it, too,” Trump said. “I’m not happy with Israel.”
The president criticized Israel for retaliating swiftly after the agreement was finalized, saying, “I didn't like the fact that Israel unloaded right after we made the deal. And now I hear Israel just went out because they felt violated by one rocket that didn’t land anywhere.”
Trump, who has touted the ceasefire as a result of his bold strategy — including ordering U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities — expressed his frustration in unusually blunt terms.
“We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f—- they’re doing,” Trump said, reflecting on the chaotic events of the morning, according to AP.
Earlier in the day, he issued a stern warning to Israel on social media, writing in capital letters:
“ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”
In a follow-up post, he reaffirmed the goal of his airstrike campaign and sought to reassure allies that Iran’s nuclear ambitions had been permanently set back:
“IRAN WILL NEVER REBUILD THEIR NUCLEAR FACILITIES!” Trump declared.
The ceasefire, which took effect Tuesday morning, followed nearly two weeks of direct hostilities between Israel and Iran — a conflict that saw missile attacks, covert operations, and U.S. military involvement. While the truce appeared to teeter on collapse, Trump’s latest intervention seemed aimed at stabilizing the situation.
