Trump Slams Netanyahu Trial, Calls for Immediate Cancellation or Pardon
Calling for the trial to be “CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY,” or for a pardon to be issued, Trump framed the proceedings as a betrayal of a wartime leader who, in his view, worked more closely and effectively with the United States than any Israeli leader in history.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Israel’s ongoing corruption trial against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing it as a “witch hunt” and demanding its immediate cancellation or a full pardon for the Israeli leader.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed shock that Netanyahu—whom he described as a “WARRIOR” and a “Great Hero”—was still facing trial despite what Trump called one of Israel’s “Greatest Moments in History,” referencing the country’s recent military confrontation with Iran.
“Bibi and I just went through HELL together, fighting a very tough and brilliant longtime enemy of Israel, Iran,” Trump wrote. “Bibi could not have been better, sharper, or stronger in his LOVE for the incredible Holy Land.”
Praising Netanyahu’s leadership during the 12-day war with Iran, Trump claimed the Israeli prime minister helped deliver “a complete elimination of potentially one of the biggest and most powerful Nuclear Weapons anywhere in the World.”
The U.S. president criticized the legal case—ongoing since 2020—against Netanyahu, describing it as “politically motivated” and centered around what he mocked as trivial matters, including “cigars, a Bugs Bunny doll, and numerous other unfair charges.”
“This is the first time a sitting Israeli Prime Minister has ever been on trial,” Trump noted. “Such a WITCH HUNT, for a man who has given so much, is unthinkable to me.”
Calling for the trial to be “CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY,” or for a pardon to be issued, Trump framed the proceedings as a betrayal of a wartime leader who, in his view, worked more closely and effectively with the United States than any Israeli leader in history.
“It was the United States of America that saved Israel, and now it is going to be the United States of America that saves Bibi Netanyahu,” Trump concluded. “THIS TRAVESTY OF ‘JUSTICE’ CAN NOT BE ALLOWED!”
Netanyahu is currently standing trial on multiple corruption charges, including bribery, fraud, and breach of trust—allegations he has consistently denied. The trial resumed this week in Jerusalem amid growing political and public debate over its timing following the recent ceasefire with Iran.
