Israel Vows to Develop Comprehensive Military Plan to Prevent Iranian Nuclear Advancement
Israel to craft military plan countering Iran's nuclear/missile programs & regional threats, Defense Minister Katz announces. Follows 'Rising Lion' strikes on Iranian facilities. Tehran denies weapons intent as Israel vows sustained campaign against 'existential threats'.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Friday that the Israeli military will formulate a comprehensive operational plan aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, while preserving the country’s regional air superiority.
Speaking in a statement carried by Israel’s Channel 12, Katz declared, “The Israeli army will prepare an executive plan against Iran, including maintaining Israel’s aerial superiority, preventing the development of the nuclear program and missile production, in addition to responding to Iran for its support of hostile activities against the State of Israel.”
Strategic policy shift following major military operation
Katz indicated that this plan marks the beginning of a broader Israeli policy realignment in confronting the Iranian threat. “We will work systematically to thwart these threats,” he stated, without offering further details.
His remarks come in the wake of Operation “Rising Lion,” Israel’s 12-day aerial campaign targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, senior scientists, and military officials. The unprecedented air assault, launched on Jun. 13, 2025, was intended to dismantle Tehran’s nuclear program — a program Iran insists is purely civilian, focused on electricity generation and other peaceful applications.
Iran denies nuclear weapons intent
Tehran has repeatedly denied pursuing nuclear weapons, citing religious prohibitions on their use and asserting that its nuclear program serves only peaceful purposes. Nonetheless, Israel and other Western powers, including the United States, remain skeptical of Iran’s intentions and have long accused Tehran of covertly advancing its nuclear weapons capabilities.
Katz’s statement signals that the recent offensive was not an isolated operation but a prelude to a sustained strategic campaign. “Rising Lion,” he said, “was merely a preface to a new Israeli policy.”
As regional tensions continue to escalate, Israel’s declaration of a new operational doctrine reflects a sharpened resolve to counter what it views as existential threats posed by Iranian ambitions across the Middle East.
