President Barzani, French Ambassador Discuss Regional Stability and Erbil-Baghdad Disputes

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — President Masoud Barzani on Monday received French Ambassador to Iraq Patrick Durel at his headquarters in Primam district, where the two officials discussed key regional developments, political challenges, and ongoing negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad.
The meeting was also attended by Yann Braem, the French Consul General in Erbil. Discussions centered on the political landscape in Iraq and the broader region, with both sides expressing concern over the threats and risks that continue to undermine regional stability.
According to a statement from Barzani’s office, special attention was given to the unresolved disputes between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government in Baghdad. The two sides assessed recent talks held between Kurdish and Iraqi officials and explored ways to advance dialogue.
