ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in northeastern Syria (Rojava) on Thursday released Raman Abdulsalam Hiso, an employee of Kurdistan24, after several days in detention.

Hiso’s release came following a public appeal by Kurdistan24 and a heartfelt appearance by his mother during the network’s 7 PM news broadcast in the Kurdish Kurmanci dialect. The appeal drew widespread attention to the case, ultimately resulting in his release.

Hiso had travelled to northeastern Syria on July 1 with his son to visit his family. Upon entering through the Semalka Border Crossing, he was initially held for several hours by the local security forces before being released. However, he was instructed to report to the General Security Office in Amuda the following morning, where he was detained.

After his release, Hiso safely returned to his family in Rojava.

Kurdistan24 extends its gratitude to everyone who supported the efforts for his release.
