Kurdistan Region, Estonia Discuss Boosting Security and Defense Ties

According to a KRG statement, Minister Pevkur has reaffirmed Estonia’s commitment to deepening ties with the Kurdistan Region, highlighting his country's willingness to expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met on Wednesday with Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of security and defense, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation for Estonia’s continued support for the Kurdistan Region, particularly through its role in the international coalition against ISIS. He praised Estonia's contributions to regional stability and security.

According to a KRG statement, Minister Pevkur has reaffirmed Estonia’s commitment to deepening ties with the Kurdistan Region, highlighting his country's willingness to expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

The two sides also discussed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region and emphasized the urgent need to halt attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region’s economic and energy infrastructure.

The meeting underscored shared priorities in advancing mutual security interests and fostering long-term partnerships between the Kurdistan Region and Estonia.
