ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Duhok SC secured a historic milestone on Friday night, lifting the Iraq Cup for the first time in the club’s history after a nail-biting penalty shootout victory over Zakho SC at Baghdad’s al-Shaab Stadium.

The highly anticipated final match, attended by nearly 40,000 fervent fans from both Duhok and Zakho, ended in a goalless draw after 90 minutes of regular play and two additional halves of extra time. With neither side managing to break the deadlock, the contest headed into a tense penalty shootout.
