Kurdistan Region Security Forces Foil ISIS Plot to Attack Civil Defense Base in Sulaimani
Following the release of a video on social networks that contained threats and references to explosions, the agency quickly identified the location of the terrorists in Sulaimani city.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Directorate of the Kurdistan Region Security Agency announced on Wednesday that two ISIS members were arrested in Sulaimani while planning an explosion at a civil defense base.
Following the release of a video on social networks that contained threats and references to explosions, the agency quickly identified the location of the terrorists in Sulaimani city.
Acting on the orders of the security investigation judge between May 22 and 24, the Directorate arrested the terrorists, one of whom was an employee at a civil defense base.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the ISIS members intended to poison the drinking water tank at one Sulaimani Civil Defense base in their first plot. In their second plot, they planned to carry out explosions by attaching bombs to a base vehicle.
