Fourth Drone Attack Strikes Motor Oil Site on Erbil Outskirts
“To protect the lives of all personnel, our security forces, police, and civil defense teams have been instructed to withdraw from the scene,” said Omed Xoshnaw
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Erbil governor Omed Xoshnaw on Wednesday issued an urgent warning regarding the continuation of drone attacks on a motor oil storage facility on the outskirts of Erbil. The latest strike marks the fourth assault on the same site, which had been targeted multiple times earlier in the day.
Xoshnaw pointed out, “Since this morning, a fourth drone has targeted the same location. To protect the lives of all personnel, our security forces, police, and civil defense teams have been instructed to withdraw from the scene.”
Authorities have called on residents and media personnel to exercise extreme caution. “We urge citizens and journalists to stay away from the area to ensure their safety and allow the facility to burn out without risking lives,” Xoshnaw added.
The governor’s warning comes amid persistent threats of repeated drone strikes at the facility. Emergency response teams remain on high alert to prevent any loss of life in the area.
No casualties have been reported, but officials are monitoring the site closely and coordinating efforts to manage the ongoing threat, emphasizing the priority of safeguarding human life over property.
