ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - High above the rugged ridges of Duhok, the provincial dam's reservoir stretches across the landscape like a deep turquoise mirror. 

Under a vast, cloud-marbled spring sky, the glass-like waters are framed by rolling mountain ridges and patches of emerging green vegetation.

Winding roads hug the edge of the reservoir, leading visitors to a scene of profound calm and renewal, a transformation fueled by a winter of historic seasonal rainfall.

A Reservoir Reborn

This year, the environmental metamorphosis is particularly striking. As the largest water infrastructure in the province, Duhok Dam has filled completely after seasonal rainfall surpassed the significant 1,000-millimeter mark.

According to Kurdistan24's environmental reporting, the quantity of water currently stored has reached approximately 52 million cubic meters.
