Trump Says Iran’s Supreme Leader Is Alive, Claims Pressure Is Working

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he believes Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei remains alive, despite having not appeared in public since his father was killed in a US-Israeli bombing campaign in February.

“I don’t think he’s dead,” Trump said in an interview with conservative radio host Glenn Beck. He said the supreme leader had been “very seriously wounded,” particularly on the left side of his body, including his arm and leg.

Iran has officially maintained that its supreme leader remains in charge amid ongoing US and Israeli attacks. However, his prolonged absence from public view, coupled with the growing influence of senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) figures, has fueled speculation over his condition and whether he remains fully in control.

Trump also said US military and economic pressure on Iran was producing results, predicting what he described as a major victory.

“Those things are going toward a very big victory,” Trump said. “We’re going to have a big victory here very soon.”

The US president also claimed that the Strait of Hormuz is fully open, despite Iran’s military having disrupted shipping through the strategic waterway and significantly restricted maritime traffic.

“You could really say, you know, because the Strait is open. We take a lot of ships through the Strait now. We’re taking them in. The mines are gone,” Trump said.

Trump reiterated that preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon remains the central objective of US policy toward Tehran.

“We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s what it’s all about. That’s 99.9 percent,” he said, adding that Iran could potentially use such a weapon. Trump also claimed that he had “stopped it twice.”
