ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iran’s army said Wednesday that it targeted US forces at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain with suicide drones, as Tehran continued attacks against American interests across the Middle East.

The Iranian military said it had targeted radar installations and assembly points belonging to US forces at the air base through “intensive attacks” carried out by suicide drones, Iranian state media reported.

Bahrain’s General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force said its air defense systems, operating with a high level of readiness, had confronted and destroyed several Iranian aerial attacks launched on Wednesday.

The Bahraini command said its forces remained at their highest level of operational readiness and stressed the importance of maintaining defensive preparedness to protect the kingdom.

It also warned the public against approaching any unidentified or suspicious objects that could be debris resulting from the Iranian attacks, urging residents to report such objects immediately.

According to the Bahraini statement, personnel from the Royal Engineering Unit were fully prepared to safely handle and dispose of any debris or objects resulting from the attacks, in order to safeguard civilians and residents.

Bahrain’s General Command strongly condemned the use of missiles and drones to target civilians, describing such attacks as a “blatant violation” of international humanitarian law.

The command also praised the readiness and capabilities of Bahrain’s armed forces, saying their preparedness reflected the country’s ability to protect its territory and respond to threats against the kingdom.

The Iranian claim comes amid a broader escalation between Iran and the United States, with Tehran targeting US military positions and other American interests across the region.

Sheikh Isa Air Base is one of the facilities in Bahrain associated with US military operations.
