Israeli Army Says Hezbollah Drone Targeted Its Forces in Southern Lebanon
The Israeli army says its troops shot down the drone without casualties and launched strikes on several targets in southern Lebanon in response.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Israeli army said Friday, that its forces had shot down a drone belonging to Lebanon’s Hezbollah after it was directed toward Israeli troops operating in what the army described as a “security zone” in southern Lebanon.
According to an official statement posted on X, Hezbollah directed the drone toward the Israeli soldiers while they were carrying out their duties in the area.
The Israeli army described the move as a “clear violation of the understandings,” saying its soldiers directly opened fire on the drone and brought it down.
The army said no casualties were recorded among its forces in the incident.
The Israeli army also said that, in a rapid response to the drone attack, its forces were carrying out strikes against several targets and areas in southern Lebanon.
