Kurdistan Region Surpasses 2 Million Digital Payment Transactions on e-Psûle
Prime Minister's Office report reveals Erbil leads with 1.18 million transactions as over 400,000 employees used the platform in August alone to check salaries before collection, marking a milestone in Kurdistan's digital financial transformation
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - More than 2 million digital payment transactions have been registered on the Kurdistan Region's e-Psûle platform, the Prime Minister's Office announced in an official report, describing the milestone as evidence of the growing adoption of digital payment infrastructure across the Region.
In August 2026 alone, more than 400,000 employees used the e-Psûle platform to check their salaries before collection, with more than 50 percent of those users checking their salary balance before going to collect it, reflecting a significant shift in how Kurdistan Region public sector employees engage with their financial information ahead of payday.
Monthly transactions across the platform have reached approximately 37 percent of all e-Pasool users who have registered to date, indicating that more than a third of registered users are actively and regularly using the platform rather than simply signing up without ongoing engagement.
The geographic breakdown of registrations across the Kurdistan Region's provinces shows Erbil leading with 1,189,000 registered users, representing 53.6 percent of total registrations, followed by Sulaimani with 522,000 users at 23.5 percent, Duhok with 492,000 users at 22.2 percent, and Halabja with 17,000 users at 0.8 percent of the total.
The Prime Minister's Office described the 2 million transaction milestone as a landmark indicator of the growing use of digital payment methods in the Kurdistan Region, directly linked to the accelerating adoption of electronic salary payment as a substitute for traditional cash-based salary collection. The report framed the e-Psûle platform's growth as a concrete achievement of the Ninth Cabinet's digital transformation agenda, which has prioritized moving Kurdistan Region government financial transactions onto electronic platforms to improve transparency, reduce corruption risks, and bring the Region's public financial management into alignment with international digital standards.
The platform's success in attracting more than 400,000 active monthly users within the government employment sector represents one of the most significant achievements of the My Account project, through which the Kurdistan Region has been rolling out electronic salary cards and digital payment infrastructure across all five of its provinces.
