Outgoing Russian Consul General Congratulates PM Barzani on Peshmerga Reunification
Prime Minister Barzani thanked Rubin for his efforts to strengthen relations between Russia and the Kurdistan Region and wished him success in his future endeavors.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Outgoing Russian Consul General Maxim Rubin congratulated Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on the reunification of the Peshmerga forces during a meeting in Erbil on Monday, as Rubin concluded his diplomatic mission in the Kurdistan Region.
According to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Rubin also commended the reforms implemented by the Ninth Cabinet across various sectors and expressed gratitude to the KRG for its support and cooperation throughout his tenure.

Russia maintains diplomatic representation in the Kurdistan Region through its Consulate General in Erbil. Relations between the Kurdistan Region and Russia have included political, economic, energy, and cultural cooperation, with Russian diplomatic officials regularly engaging with KRG leaders on bilateral ties and regional developments.
Kurdistan Region Peshmerga Affairs Minister Shorsh Ismail on Monday declared the full unification of the Peshmerga forces, stating that years of work had transformed a long-held national aspiration into an institutional military structure operating under a single ministry and command.
