MyAccount Expands to 800 ATMs Across Kurdistan Region
Nearly 800 ATMs have been installed across the Kurdistan Region as more than one million beneficiaries receive salaries digitally through the MyAccount program.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Nearly 800 automated teller machines have been installed across the Kurdistan Region as more than one million employees, pensioners and other salary recipients now receive their payments digitally through the Kurdistan Regional Government's "MyAccount" program.
The MyAccount program team said in a statement that digital distribution of September salaries began on Sunday, Oct. 11, and is expected to continue through Wednesday, Oct. 14, across all provinces of the Kurdistan Region.
According to the team, the number of people registered in the system has reached 1.14 million, while approximately 1.07 million bank cards have been distributed.
Of those registered, about 1.02 million beneficiaries currently receive their salaries directly through MyAccount.
To support withdrawals and improve access to funds, nearly 800 ATMs have been installed at more than 200 locations across the Kurdistan Region.
The largest number of salary recipients is in Erbil, with around 422,000 beneficiaries, followed by 372,000 in Sulaimani, 197,000 in Duhok, and approximately 25,000 in Halabja.
The program covers several categories of public-sector salary recipients.
Figures released by the MyAccount team show that around 400,000 civilian employees, 238,000 Peshmerga and Asayish personnel, 313,000 pensioners, and 65,000 families of martyrs receive payments through the digital system.
The team said participation has continued to increase over recent months.
In June, approximately 836,000 people received their salaries digitally. That figure rose to 922,000 in July, passed one million in August at 1.001 million, and reached 1.016 million in September.
The latest figures indicate that digital salary distribution has continued to expand as additional beneficiaries receive cards and are transferred into the banking system.
Employees experiencing problems with their accounts or salary payments have been asked to contact the program's service center through the 1991 hotline.
MyAccount is one of the strategic initiatives introduced by the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ninth Cabinet to digitize salary payments and expand the use of banking services.
The program was announced by Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and covers government employees, pensioners, security personnel and other salary recipients.
Under the system, beneficiaries can withdraw their salaries from ATMs or keep funds in their bank accounts and use them for purchases through electronic payment terminals.
The program is intended to reduce dependence on cash payments while increasing access to financial services and supporting wider banking-sector digitization.
The latest figures also show that implementation remains ongoing. While 1.14 million beneficiaries have registered, the number of distributed cards and people already receiving salaries digitally remains lower than the total registration figure.
The MyAccount team said work is continuing to extend services and infrastructure to additional areas as the government expands electronic salary distribution across the Kurdistan Region.
