Iraq Denies Reports of Airstrike on PMF Military Site in Diyala
Iraq's Security Media Cell denies reports that warplanes bombed a Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) military site in Diyala province on Tuesday.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Iraq's Security Media Cell denied on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, that warplanes had attacked a Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) military site in Diyala province, even as eyewitnesses reported powerful explosions.
Saad Maan, head of the Security Media Cell, said no PMF military position in Diyala had been bombed.
Meanwhile, several eyewitnesses told Kurdistan24 correspondent Harm Jaf that they heard multiple powerful explosions in Diyala before noon Tuesday, although the cause remained unclear.
Several Iraqi media outlets reported that the explosions resulted from an airstrike targeting PMF positions. Some reports also alleged that several senior PMF commanders had been killed.
However, neither the PMF nor media outlets close to it had confirmed the reported attack or casualties at the time of publication.
The circumstances surrounding the explosions remain unclear, with the Iraqi Security Media Cell rejecting reports of an aerial attack.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
