ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday convened with Jordan’s King Abdulla bin Hussien in Amman, where the two discussed bilateral ties between the Kurdish region and the Hashemite Kingdom.

Earlier in the day, Barzani arrived in the Jordanian capital along with a presidential delegation and was received by Prince Faisal bin Hussien at Queen Alia International Airport.

The Jordanian monarch and Kurdish president discussed “bilateral relations between [the Kurdistan Region of Iraq] and Jordan, economic cooperation, regional challenges and other issues of mutual interest,” according to a tweet from Barzani.

Kurdistan Region values its “deeply-rooted ties with Jordan,” he said.

Jordan has a diplomatic presence in the Kurdistan Region at a consulate general level.
