'FSC ruling on KRG oil and gas sector unfair and unconstitutional': Council of Ministers

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Council of Ministers described the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court (FSC) ruling on the KRG's oil and gas sector as unfair and unconstitutional. 

During its weekly meeting on Wednesday, the council had a detailed discussion about the ruling.

"The council emphasizes the Kurdistan Region's stance to continue to defend its constitutional rights that are fixed in the Iraqi Constitution," Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani wrote in a Facebook post. "The Kurdistan Region will continue working with the federal government to reach an agreement on how to resolve this issue."

During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani also presented a brief on his visit to Qatar and his participation in the Munich Security Council (MSC-2022) in Germany. 

In his meetings with leaders and officials in Qatar and Germany, the Kurdish leader emphasized that the "Kurdistan Region is an important factor of stability and security in the region."
