A drone strike hit PMF logistic center in Baghdad

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - A logistic center belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) has been hit by a drone strike in Baghdad, Kurdistan24 has learned.

Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, an Iranian-backed militia force, was hit in central Baghdad on Thursday, a Telegram channel linked to the militias reported. 

Two members of the militia forces have been killed, and the channel is described as "senior leaders", naming Abu Taqwa Al-Saeedi, as the commander.

Al-Saeedi has been described as the deputy commander of the PMF's Baghdad Belt Operations, according to a statement from the group. 

At least two explosions were heard in eastern Baghdad. 

The militias have accused the US troops, which last month hit the base of another militia group about a drone strike on American forces in Erbil, where three servicemen were wounded. 

The strike comes a day after the PMF forces commemorated the fourth anniversary of the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and his Iraqi comrade by a US strike in Baghdad. 

The Iranian-backed militias have ramped up their drone strikes on the US forces in Iraq and Syria, particularly following the eruption of the Gaza war.

More than 100 such attacks have been conducted since then, according to Pentagon officials.
