Pentagon official confirms US drone crashed near Diyala

A Pentagon official confirmed to Kurdistan24 that a US drone crashed in the vicinity of Diyala.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Thursday, a Pentagon official confirmed to Kurdistan24 that a US drone crashed in the vicinity of Diyala.

The official stated that the drone was "recovered by and is now in the possession of our Iraqi partners."

"The Coalition will coordinate with the Iraqis to regain possession of the drone," the official added.

Additionally, the official mentioned that the "reason for the crash is still under investigation."

The Iranian-backed Islamic Resistance in Iraq group claimed on Friday that they targeted the MQ-9 Reaper that was coming Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
