Turkey issues arrest warrant for pro-Kurdish HDP Spokesperson

On Tuesday, Turkish government issued an arrest warrant for the pro-Kurdish party of People's Democratic Party (HDP) spokesperson Osman Baydemir.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) - On Tuesday, the Turkish government issued an arrest warrant for the pro-Kurdish party of People's Democratic Party (HDP) spokesperson Osman Baydemir.

"Turkish authorities can do whatever they want, " Baydemir told Kurdistan24 on Tuesday. "I will continue working on my program and plans as the spokesperson of HDP."

Previously, Baydemir was temporarily detained by Turkish authorities but was later released.

Turkey has already jailed the leaders and some of the party's parliamentary members, including the HDP Co-leader Selahattin Demirtas for alleged links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
