PM Barzani discusses developing trade and investment relations with Qatar’s Emir
They also agreed to maintain relations and coordinate on matters of mutual interest.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Wednesday in that country’s capital Doha, where they discussed developing bilateral ties, particularly in the trade and investment sector.
Barzani and al-Thani highlighted the latest political developments in Iraq, particularly efforts to form a new government in Baghdad, and relations between Qatar, the Kurdistan Region, and Iraq, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
The two leaders reiterated their aim to develop trade and investment relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the Gulf state, the statement added.
"Our peoples are bound together by more than a common history; we share a longing for peace and stability, and a solemn recognition of our stakes in it," Barzani told al-Thani in his meeting, extending his appreciation to the Qatari leader for the country's "extraordinary hospitality".

Before he met with the leader, Barzani discussed trade and investment relations and energy affairs with Qatari ministers.
Barzani is visiting the Gulf nation after receiving an official invitation.
Following his arrival to the country on Tuesday, the prime minister visited the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.
His Qatar visit is Barzani’s second visit to a Gulf country in less than a month.
He visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in late January and met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Abu Dhabi’s crown prince.
