ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The United States has provided $500,000 worth of equipment to the internal security services of the Kurdistan Region’s capital for Erbil to help it counter explosives.

In a visit to Asayish (Kurdish internal security) headquarters in Erbil, US Consul General David Palladino presented the equipment in a ceremony to the security forces’ Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit.

“Following a pause in anti-terrorism assistance operations due to #COVID19, the #United_States has resumed security assistance operations with programs valued at over $10 million planned over the next two years,” the consulate general announced on Thursday.
