PM Barzani and Rayan Al-Kildani discuss efforts to form the new Iraqi government

During the meeting, Barzani and al-Kildani discussed Iraq's political process and situation, including efforts to form the new government.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Rayan Al-Kildani, the Secretary-General of the Babylon Movement, and his delegation in Erbil on Sunday evening. 

During the meeting, Barzani and al-Kildani discussed Iraq's political process and situation, including efforts to form the new government.

They both emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to reach agreements between political parties. They also agreed that this is essential for guaranteeing the constitutional rights of the country's various components and giving them equitable participation and partnership in administrative, governance, and political decision-making.

In Iraq's Oct. 10, 2021, elections, the Babylon Movement secured four of the five quota seats reserved for the country's Christians in the 329-seat parliament.

Earlier on Sunday, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani also received al-Kildani.
