Baghdad to host 10th defense, security exhibition
Light and heavy weaponry will be on display during the fair, al-Shammari said.
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Iraq is set to host its annual security and defense exhibition early this March.
Known by its acronym IQDEX 2022, the International Defense Exhibition in Iraq will showcase various military equipment made by local and foreign companies, the organizer United Company said on its website.
More than 65 international and local companies in 13 countries will participate this year, Falah al-Shammari, the organizing company’s director, told the state-owned Iraqi News Agency on Sunday.
Light and heavy weaponry will be on display during the fair, al-Shammari said.
According to its organizers, this year’s fair, its 10th edition, will be attended by companies from France, China, Pakistan, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, and Bulgaria.
The company says it will be hosted between March 2-5 in the Baghdad International Fairground.
“The exhibition will provide an important opportunity to inform the participating countries and companies of the capabilities of the Iraqi military industries,” as well as a platform for striking military deals between partners, al-Shammari added.
The fair has been held since 2012 in the country to allow defense companies to showcase their latest products.
