Peshmerga forces receive combat vehicle and helicopter assault training

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdish security forces received combat vehicle and helicopter assault training from the US-led coalition on Thursday.
Fourteen Peshmerga from the 4th Infantry Brigade of the Ministry of Peshmerga ended a driving course on Humvee combat vehicles, backed by the DynCorp, an American private military contractor, the Ministry of Peshmerga said in a tweet on Thursday.

During the course, coalition advisors were present “so that they could be used scientifically and modernly in the battlefield,” the Ministry of Peshmerga said.

Moreover, the Sulaimani Asayish Swat and Coalition forces teamed up for helicopter assault training with CH-47 Chinooks, the US Special Operations Joint Task Force-Levant tweeted.

The Ministry of Peshmerga regularly receives assistance from the coalition. The assistance usually comes in the form of ammunition and vehicles provided through the US Department of Defense (DoD)-funded Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund (CTEF) program.
