Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - On the recommendation and guidance of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, a significant planting and weeding campaign commenced today, Saturday, along 120 Meter Street in Erbil.

Sasan Awni, the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism in the Kurdistan Regional Government, announced that the campaign involves planting trees and creating green spaces on both sides of the 120-meter road, a crucial gateway from Mosul to Erbil.

In a statement to Kurdistan 24, Awni detailed that the project, covering an area of 205 square meters, is funded by the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region.

"The project includes planting about 30,000 trees and 10,000 flowers and shrubs within an area estimated at 20,000 square meters," Awni said.

He also mentioned additional elements such as "grassing the area, digging water wells for irrigation, building two large tanks, and installing irrigation systems."

The initiative aims to enhance the climate and environment of Erbil while beautifying the cityscape.

"These projects will continue in the capital of the Kurdistan Region," Awni noted, adding that the foundation stone for the Rashkin Park project is expected to be laid within the next two days.
