ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Erbil Water Directorate has announced measures to address potential water shortages during the summer, ensuring that wells reliant on electricity are now powered by generators.

Additionally, the distribution from the Ifraz projects has been better organized.

On Thursday, June 6, 2024, Erbil Water and Sewerage Director Zardasht Sarsam confirmed that comprehensive preparations have been made to prevent a recurrence of last summer’s water shortage issues.

"We have provided generators to supply electricity to wells that need it, and the distribution mechanism from the Ifraz projects is now more organized," Sarsam stated.

He further detailed that the water distribution system now includes tankers to deliver water wherever necessary.

"This year, we are well-prepared to prevent any water shortages during the summer season," Sarsam emphasized, assuring citizens that all efforts are being made to ensure a reliable water supply.
