ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Late Mala Mustafa Barzani is one of the immortals in Kurds’ memory, Britannica recorded a fact-checked article about this late President Mala Mustafa Barzani (born March 14, 1903, Barzan, and passed away March 1, 1979, Washington, D.C., U.S.).

Britannica covered the Kurdish leader the Late President Barzani in their fact-checked research, it is recorded that the Late Mullah Mustafa Barzani was a military leader who led and endeavored to create independency to the millions of the Kurdish nation who have been in Iraq (southern Kurdistan), a large Kurdish community in Russia (former Soviet Union) and Iran (east of Kurdistan).

The Late President Barzani, the Shekh Ahmad Barzani’s young brother, the latter who was leading the Kurdish national movement during the World War I until late 1930s. The encyclopedia recognized that, in 1946, Barzani started his commander position to the Kurdish troop during the Kurdish Mahabad Republic. 
Mahabad is a city in the eastern part of Kurdistan, Britannica would still mention it as a part of the northwest of Iran. This city locates in the south part of Lake Urmia, Britannica describes it as “A fertile, narrow valley at an elevation of 4,272 feet (1,302 meters).
It is affirmed by the encyclopedia that there is a lot word needs to be done to unravel the secrets about Mahabad. “Geographically, there are a number of unexcavated tells, or mounds, on the plain of Mahabad.” Britannica acknowledged.

When the independency announced by Qazi Mohammad in Mahabad, hereby the Britannica Record described the independency as a short-lived Kurdish Mahabad Republic, and its Minister of Defense was Mala Mustafa Barzani. However, the Kurdish republic was aborted by the Iranian government at the time.

Moreover, the President of the Republic of Mahabad Qazi Mohammad was hanged by the Iranian’s government in 1947, and the Kurdish government was overrun by the Iranian’s army.

The Late Barzani who was the Minister of Defense at the time of the revolution, announcement and declaring the independency in Mahabad in east of Kurdistan. Barzani was the founder of the Kurdistan Democratic Party KDP, when Iranian troops attacked and raided the Republic of Mahabad, Mala-Mustafa the father took Soviet a refuge, he was forbidden to go back to Kurdistan. After a long while then he could return to the homeland, and continued leading Kurdish revolution.

Brittanica underlined the political party that Barzani made remained the most powerful group among the Kurdish politics. 

The encyclopedia recorded briefings about Barzan’s leading Kurdish revolution at different stages, especially in 1974 where a law defined the Kurdish Autonomous Region that was promulgated by Iraq.
